I met up with Bob Chapman again for a few drinks at a pub in Enfield. We had quite a good night just chatting.

We sat at a table next to a bloke who was half reading his news paper and half watching the football. He must have been listening in to our conversation too because he said," Did I hear you mention an RE web site".

It turned out he was also ex Engineers although he had been in and out long after either Bob or myself. I forgot to ask his surname and so I only know him as Colin. So Colin if you read this drop me a line.

Thinking about it, there must be quite a few old Engineers in the area and I am considering putting an ad in the local paper to see if I can contact some of them. We do not have an official RE Association in the area and our nearest one is way over in west London and they seem to be a stuffy old lot to me.

jpgThis is a picture of Trev Mitchell receiving his medal from Tony Blair. When he got out of the Army he joined the TA and was posted to active duty. Well done mate. All the more praise is due because he says he was 54 at the time
